Lambung Mangkurat University Visits the Doctoral Program in Science Education at UNY

Yogyakarta, August 21, 2024 – The Doctoral Program in Science Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) hosted a visit from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) at Meeting Room 2, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNY. This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and share experiences regarding the management of doctoral programs.

The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Dadan Rosana, M.Si., Dean of FMIPA UNY, who warmly welcomed the delegation from ULM. In his remarks, Prof. Dadan emphasized the importance of inter-university collaboration to enhance the quality of higher education, particularly in Science Education. Following the opening session, a discussion was held, focusing on various aspects of managing the Doctoral Program in Science Education at UNY. The UNY academic team delivered the main presentation, explaining the doctoral curriculum, including the course structure, dissertation preparation mechanisms, and strategies for achieving academic outputs such as publications in reputable journals and intellectual property rights.

The ULM delegation appreciated the academic system and curriculum implemented in the Doctoral Program in Science Education at UNY. One representative from ULM stated that this visit provided valuable insights into innovations in managing doctoral programs. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session between the ULM delegation and the UNY Doctoral Program team, discussing opportunities for collaboration in research, publications, and faculty and student exchange programs. This visit is expected to serve as the initial step in fostering closer collaboration between UNY and ULM in supporting the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
