Science Education Doctoral Study Program Begins Classes in the Even Semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year

On Monday, January 30, 2023, Yogyakarta State University started classes for the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. At the beginning of the even semester of the Doctor of Natural Sciences Education study program, five students were taking lectures. Based on the curriculum that has been prepared, the UNY Science Education Doctoral Study Program offers five courses, including TPACK Development based on Local Potential, Science Study of Local Potential, Educational Philosophy, Research Methods, and Writing a Science Education Journal. These five courses are designed to equip students to develop knowledge and insight in research and scientific publications.

Lectures take place in a blended manner. This system allows students who still need to be in Yogyakarta to attend lectures online. Despite this, lectures continued well. Head of the Science Education Doctoral Study Program, Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng, stated, "Lectures that are carried out as much as possible can facilitate students to learn wherever and whenever learning with a system like this is the result of adaptation to new normal habits after the pandemic which has lasted for more than 2 years. However, more is needed to maintain the essence of learning itself. "

Lectures are also held in the 2nd class, the even semester. The courses presented are scientific studies in Science, Physics, or Biology, according to the concentration taken. Apart from that, there is a Dissertation Proposal seminar course that aims to facilitate students' guidance with promoters in order to accelerate the graduation of Doctor of Science Education students.
