Science Education Doctoral Program Lecturers Share AI-Driven Teaching Innovations at Sebelas Maret University

Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng, M.Pd. dan Dr. Sabar Nurohman, S.Pd.Si., M.Pd. menjadi narasumber dalam kegiatan Smart Teaching with AI: Digital Creative Pedagogy dan Implementasi OBE dalam Pendidikan Tinggi

Two lecturers from the Doctoral Program (S3) in Science Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng, M.Pd. and Dr. Sabar Nurohman, S.Pd.Si., M.Pd., were invited as keynote speakers at the "Smart Teaching with AI: Digital Creative Pedagogy and OBE Implementation in Higher Education" seminar organized by the Professor Council of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at UNS Tower, 3rd Floor, Surakarta.

The event served as an academic forum that brought together university lecturers and education practitioners to discuss the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education. As AI continues to reshape teaching and learning, the seminar highlighted innovative strategies for integrating AI into pedagogy while strengthening the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng introduced a new AI-based DCPCK (Digital Creative Pedagogical Content Knowledge) framework. The framework expands lecturers' professional competencies by integrating pedagogical knowledge, disciplinary content knowledge, digital creativity, and the responsible use of AI in instructional design. This approach aims to support educators in creating more adaptive, innovative, and student-centered learning experiences that meet the demands of the digital era.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sabar Nurohman presented on AI-assisted Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum development. His presentation demonstrated how AI can support curriculum design processes, including the formulation of graduate learning outcomes, curriculum mapping, assessment development, and evaluation of learning achievement. By leveraging AI, higher education institutions can enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and data-informed implementation of OBE.

The seminar attracted enthusiastic participation from academics and educators, generating engaging discussions on both the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into higher education. Participants also exchanged perspectives on ethical considerations and best practices for the responsible use of AI in teaching and learning.

The participation of the two lecturers reflects the commitment of the Doctoral Program in Science Education, FMIPA UNY, to advancing educational innovation and contributing to the national discourse on AI-enhanced higher education. Their involvement also strengthens academic collaboration between universities while promoting the development of future-ready teaching practices aligned with global educational trends.
